Morrill Memorial Library is excited to offer a presentation called Birds in Your Backyard by Joy Marzolf on April 11 at 7PM in the Simoni Room.

As the days get longer and temperatures get warmer, a wide variety of birds may visit backyards in the Greater Boston area. What makes a good backyard habitat? How do you attract those beautiful birds? Who is coming and who is going this time of year? Come find out more about our local birds, as well as occasional visitors, and what brings them to our neighborhoods. Experience the sights and sounds of some of our most beautiful neighbors!

About the presenter: Joy has loved animals from the time she was a child growing up in New England and she would always take advantage of any outdoor time to explore nature. In addition to a BA in Biology, she has been doing a variety of animal-related education programs in her professional life for over 20 years. One of her favorite things to do is break people’s misconceptions about many animals that people fear, such as predators including sharks, reptiles and spiders. Until June of 2020, Joy was a Naturalist and Educator at Mass Audubon’s Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary for almost 14 years. There she taught numerous programs, including those with live animals, for a wide range of ages on topics including butterflies and dragonflies, reptiles and amphibians, mammals, animal tracking and photography.

This program is free and open to the public aged 16+. Registration is required. To register, please fill the form below or call 781 769 0200 Ext 2
