To commemorate Women’s History Month, actor Judith Kalaora will present her original one-woman show, “Challenger: Soaring with Christa McAuliffe” at the Morrill Memorial Library on Monday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m. 33 years after the explosion of the Challenger space shuttle, Ms. Kalaora will bring to life the spirit of Ms. McAuliffe and invite the audience to discover the true story behind this renowned teacher and educational pioneer. A Framingham native like Christa, Ms. Kalaora begins her presentation with Christa as a 15-year-old Girl Scout and moves through her childhood, her politically active college years, her time as an inner-city teacher in Maryland and later in New Hampshire, and concludes with her training at NASA to become the first teacher in space, using multimedia, news clips, and Christa’s actual recordings. You can watch a brief interview with Judith here.
