Monday, April 226:30—7:30 PMSimoni RoomMorrill Memorial Library33 Walpole St., Norwood, MA, 02062

The Morrill Memorial Library is presenting a special three-part Disastour series. Disastour is defined as "a trip with visits to various places of destruction, natural disaster, or catastrophe, for pleasure or instruction."

In this final program in the series, Lydia Sampson, Head of the Technical Services Department at the library, will be joined by Dr. David Gullette, Professor Emeritus at Simmons College, and President of the Newton/San Juan del Sur Sister City Project.

Gullette has traveled to and worked with locals in Nicaragua every year since 1988. He will discuss the history of the region from the Contra/Sandinista war and Iran-Contra scandal, through recent deaths of protesters and criticism of President Ortega, the former revolutionary turned quasi-dictator. Both Gullette and Sampson will share stories of travel to Nicaragua over the years for service work and tourism.
