Local historian Dr. Gary Hylander will present the first of six lectures in 2020: Einstein's Letter to FDR. In October 1939, Albert Einstein sent an urgent letter to President Franklin Roosevelt recommending that American scientists begin work on developing an atomic bomb. What followed was the Manhattan Project.
