Environmental Justice: What it is, and Who it affects in Norwood and in the World

Thursday, April 87:00—8:15 PMVirtualMorrill Memorial Library33 Walpole St., Norwood, MA, 02062

Get in the Earth Day spirit and join us for a virtual event about Environmental Justice, offered as part of the Spring Sustainability Series with TogetherYes, Progress Norwood, and the Morrill Memorial Library, and broadcast in real-time by Norwood Community Media.

We are pleased to present William Rodriguez, lecturer in Youth Justice and Advocacy at Boston University's Wheelock College and graduate of Northeastern University's Law School and Graduate Program in Criminal Justice. The topic of this presentation is dear to his heart.  William says, “Environmental justice involves mobilizing and advocating for a clean and healthy community,...[and] strategies can be applied at the local and national level.”

You might recognize him as Willie Rodriguez, a Norwood resident who is also our resident DeeJay on Norwood Day and at many other Norwood events.

This program is part of Norwood’s Civic Hub, a year-long series of LSTA grant programs brought to you with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

There will be an opportunity for questions after his presentation, so please register below to join us on Zoom on Thursday, April 8 at 7:00 pm. Please call the library Reference Desk with any questions at 781-769-0200 x2.

Registration for this event has now closed.
