Musical artist Maitreyee Chakraborty will be returning to the Morrill Memorial Library on Saturday, June 22 for a special 2:00 pm concert, “Within me, Within You: the universal spiritualism in Tagore's music.” The songs composed by the early 20th century Bengali Nobel Laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore explore our multi-faceted relationship with spiritualism outside the boundary of religion and rituals. The songs in this concert are for folks from all religions or with no religion at all. The concert will be presented in a lecture-demonstration style with live instruments. Translations of songs and descriptive photos will be shown on a slide show. Maitreyee will lead the group with vocals, accompanied by Suvadip Sengupta on guitar, Monami Roy on harmonium, and Subhankar Choudhury on percussion.
