In honor of Stuart Plumer, the Morrill Memorial Library presents the Stuart Plumer Author Series. Join us for an in-person conversation with award-winning author Anita Diamant on Monday, July 24 at 6:30 pm in the Simoni Room at the library.

Anita Diamant will be in conversation with Library Director Clayton Cheever discussing her body of literary work. It will be in the form of a Q & A session.

About the author: Anita Diamant is the author of thirteen books. Her most recent, published in 2021 is Period. End of Sentence: The New Chapter in the Fight for Menstrual Justice. Her first novel, New York Times bestseller, The Red Tent, was the winner of the 2001 Booksense Book of the Year.  It has been published in more than 25 countries. Her other bestselling novels include The Boston Girl, Day after Night, The Last Days of Dogtown, and Good Harbor.

Anita Diamant has written six non-fiction guides to contemporary Jewish life: The Jewish Wedding Now, The Jewish Baby Book, Living a Jewish Life, Choosing a Jewish Life, How to Raise a Jewish Child, and Saying Kaddish. A collection of her essays, Pitching My Tent, is drawn from twenty years of newspaper and magazine columns. An award-winning journalist, her work has appeared in the Boston Globe Magazine, Boston Magazine. Hadassah, Parenting, Real Simple, the Wall Street Journal, and Yankee Magazine.

Anita Diamant grew up in Newark, New Jersey and Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in comparative literature and holds a master’s degree in English from Binghamton University. She lives in the Boston area.
