Morrill Memorial Library is excited to bring a unique program to the library called Introduction to Antique Hand Fans. It will be held in-person on Saturday May 11, 2024 at 10:30 am in the Simoni Room.

Please join our presenter Shelly Goncalves and learn all about the history of antique fans. See 100 antique hand fans from the 18th & 19th century. Explore different materials used for this art including mother of pearl, bone, ivory, & celluloid. Have an antique hand fan at home? Bring it for identification.

About the presenter: Shelly J. Goncalves has been collecting antique hand fans for over 50 years. Shelly is a member of the Fan Association of North America (FANA) and the Fan Circle International (FCI), where she serves on the board.
