Children are invited to join Plymouth County 4-H dog club leader Cathy Acampora and her certified therapy dog Merida they lead this fun but informative class on how to safely interact with dogs. Cathy will read her book "Please Don't Hug Me" and teach children when and how to approach a dog. Merida  will demonstrate the signals dogs give us when they don't want to be approached along with a few cool tricks!  This program is highly interactive and excellent for kids who LOVE dogs as well as those who are nervous around them. Merida is a highly trained, friendly therapy dog.

In addition to her work with 4-H, Cathy is a veteran dog trainer, specializing in teaching kids how to train dogs, and is the former head zookeeper at the Franklin Park Zoo. Cathy brings a wealth of knowledge on animal training as well as a passion for working with kids. Space is limited!
