The Morrill Memorial Library and First Congregational Church are happy to welcome teacher, healer, and author Johanna Hattendorf to join us in the library's Simoni Room on Saturday, November 16 at 10:00 am. Johanna will offer a poetry reading followed by a Q&A and book signing. Thank you to the FCC for generously providing refreshments.
If you have experienced trauma, a deep loss, or a life-changing event, you know how it breaks you at every level of your being. You may wish you could turn back time, or wonder if it will ever get better. Healing is possible.
The book "Shattered and Gathered: Reclaiming My life After Childhood Sexual Abuse" is a poetic memoir of courage, and hope. But rather than focusing on “what happened,” these poems tell the story of one person’s journey home to herself.
Johanna Hattendorf is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, who lives in VA with her wife Lisa and their dog Toby. She has spent much of her life, healing and helping others heal. She believes in magic and mystery and the wild unfolding of serendipity. She especially believes in the power of words to shape and create.
