Morrill Memorial Library is thrilled to host NASA Ambassador Amanda Thompson for a presentation on solar eclipses called Solar Eclipse: See you on the flip side, Sun on Saturday March 23, 2024 at 1 PM at the library.

Did you know that on April 8, 2024 a total solar eclipse is going to be visible in North America? The path of totality includes parts of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Are you curious about eclipses? Do you know how they happen? Do you know why we don’t see them often? What is so special about this one? Please join Amanda Thompson, a NASA Ambassador, as she explains this scientific phenomena with lots of details, and scientific facts.

About the presenter: Amanda Thompson has searched for opportunities to study space since the day she was able to identify the constellation Orion from the sea of stars. She has a strong background in astronomy and planetary science, and loves sharing these topics with people of all ages and experience. Amanda has been a NASA ambassador since 2010.
