The Fall Sustainability Series at the Morrill Memorial Library concludes on Monday, December 9 at 6:30 pm with a film screening and discussion of “The Altruism Revolution” by bestselling author and Buddhist monk Matthieu Ricard. Altruism is defined as a selfless devotion to people and causes--other than one’s self. But is it ever totally selfless? Medical and ethnographic research shows that practicing altruism promotes peace of mind and improved physical health. “The Altruism Revolution” delves deep into the human mind to explore altruism and find out what really drives us.
