In honor of Pride Month, the Morrill Memorial Library is pleased to partner with Joshua Hyde Library and other Massachusetts public libraries to present a virtual talk by author Milo Todd about the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:30pm on Zoom.
Join author Milo Todd on Zoom as he discusses the Stonewall Rebellion, a grassroots movement that sparked LGBTQ+ rights across the country. What happened during the multi-night rebellion around the Stonewall Inn in June of 1969? What was the first thing thrown and who threw it? Who took part and who stayed away?Hear the details of what happened and how this ultimately led to the creation of Pride Month.
Note: This session includes mention of transphobia, racism, police brutality, slurs, murder, sexual assault, and misgendering /deadnaming.
About the author: Milo Todd is a writer, editor, and educator. He instructs the 9-month Novel Immersive for LGBTQ+ Writers. His debut novel, The Lilac People, will publish with Counterpoint in Spring/Summer 2025. His fiction focuses on trans and queer history, and has appeared in SLICE Magazine, Hare’s Paw Literary Journal, Response Magazine, Foglifter Journal, Home is Where You Queer Your Heart (Foglifter Press), and Emerge: The 2019 Lambda Fellows Anthology (Lambda Literary Press).
