The Morrill Memorial Library is partnering with Watertown Free Public Library and other Massachusetts public libraries to host panelists Roxanna Asgarian, Jessica Chicco, and Cheryl Aguilar, who will discuss the topic of child removal in the U.S., on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:00pm on Zoom.

Learn about two current realities of child removal in the United States: the separation of migrant families at U.S. borders and the racial biases and corruption in U.S. foster care and adoption systems.

About the panelists:

Roxanna Asgarian is a journalist and author of We Were Once A Family: A Story of Love, Death, and Child Removal in America.

Jessica Chicco is the Director of the New Americans Initiative at Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA).

Cheryl Aguilar, LCSW, is the Founding Director of Hope Center for Wellness and a doctoral student at Smith College School of Social Work. She specializes in working with immigrants and refugees.
