This Spring, the Morrill Memorial Library and Old Parish Preservation Volunteers are partnering to present a visual tour of local history as you may never have seen it before. Please register below!

On Monday, March 25, at 6:30 pm, join Patricia Fanning, Robert Donahue, and Rock Street Press publisher Heather Cole for a discussion of the new book, Wish You Were Here: Vintage Postcards of Norwood, Massachusetts. This full-color publication features reproductions of more than 150 postcards from the private collection of Robert and Susan Donahue, with annotations by Fanning. It is an engaging visual tour through Norwood’s past and a great gift for fans of local history, vintage postcards, or early 20th century photography.

The postcards in this volume tell the story of Norwood from its founding to the late twentieth century. Businesses, houses of worship, educational, health care and recreational facilities, public buildings, landmarks and homes are all represented. For many, these views will spark nostalgia; for others, they will be totally unfamiliar. Either way, this is vintage Norwood.

Books will be available for purchase (cash only) after the presentation, which is sponsored by the Old Parish Preservation Volunteers. Rock Street Press is a small book publisher specializing in local history, travel and memoir. It is based in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Thank you to Norwood Community Media for helping this program to reach a wider audience.

Registration is required. Please reserve your seats by filling out the form below, or call the Reference desk at 781-769-0200 x2.
